About Dr. Rong-Huey Liu
Taiwanese American oboist Dr. Rong-Huey Liu, a Marigaux Artist, is a California-based high demand multi-faceted artist.
Dr. Liu frequently perform as a concerto soloist, her performance of Saul’s "Kiev 2014” with Fresno Phil, garnered critical acclaim for "sublime playing and crisp performance, filled with quiet perseverance and passion.” With the Long Beach Symphony, her Lebrun Oboe Concerto was commended for “played with consummate grace and musicality...awesome technical display." As Hollywood recording artist, she her cinema credits include “Star War VIII”, “Hocus Pocus II”, “Disenchanted”, and “Jazzman’s Blue”, “The Six Triple Eight”, to name a few.
Dr. Liu is the principal oboe with the Long Beach Symphony, Los Angeles Ballet, Fresno Philharmonic, California Chamber Orchestra, Riverside Phil and Redlands Symphony. She plays regularly with the Pacific Symphony and San Diego Symphony. She is currently the oboe professor at California State University Fullerton, La Sierra University, Riverside City College and University of Redlands.
