Dr. Dreana Holloway was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. She attended Winston-Salem State University, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Psychology in 2014. From 2014 to 2016, she served as an EC Teacher Assistant within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools District. In 2016, Dr. Holloway received her degree in School Counseling from Liberty University. She has been a school counselor in the elementary setting for eight years.
In continuing her education, Dr. Holloway earned her Doctor of Counselor Education and Supervision degree from Capella University in 2023. She immediately began her journey as a counselor educator at Capella University, teaching a 10X Diversity course. Dr. Holloway is committed to the counseling profession by providing her expertise in peer group supervision to counseling students, which fosters high self-efficacy and job satisfaction. Dr. Holloway is also working internationally with colleagues to assist school counselors in Belize in enhancing their school counseling programs. Her ultimate goal is to provide the knowledge and skills instilled within her to improve the school counseling profession on a larger scale.
