Mission Statement
The Mission of San Francisco Theological Seminary is to “Welcome, educate, and empower a diverse community of learners for lives of meaning, impact, and joy through spiritual and ethical leadership.” It does so by means of:
- Three degree programs, the Master of Arts in Theological Studies; the Master of Divinity; and the Doctor of Ministry degrees;
- One diploma and three certificate programs, the Diploma in the Art of Spiritual Direction; the Certificate in Spiritual Direction and Formation; the Certificate in Trauma and Spiritual Care; and the Certificate in Theological Studies.
- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
- Participation in the GTU’s MA and PhD programs.

San Francisco Theological Seminary is accredited the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) to offer the following degree programs:
